Obedience Lessons

Private Lessons

In-person private lessons are available on a limited basis, starting at $25 per session or $125 for a package of six lessons. Private lessons are for dogs and their handlers.

Board and Train

I have a very limited number of board-and-train slots available for summer 2025. The first slot has already been reserved, but I have two sessions remaining: June 8-21 and June 29-July 15. Due to the complexity of my schedule and the highly structured nature of my board-and-train program, these times are NOT flexible. I charge $1,250 for the full two-week program. To ensure that your dog receives my full attention, I accept only one client per session. If you are interested in either session, please be aware that you MUST be available to drop the dog off before noon on the first day of the session, and you MUST be willing and able to spend the final day of the session with me, learning how to maintain your dog’s skills in the long term.

Remote Consultation

I do not offer remote lessons, because my approach to training is too hands-on to work from a distance. What I can do remotely is help you analyze your own unique situation and wade through the plethora of training tools, techniques, and philosophies out there to figure out what is likely to work best for you and your dog.

I offer 30-minute Zoom consultations for $20 per session. To make the most of your session, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire when you sign up. This questionnaire will help me focus our conversation and ensure that you get the answers you need.

Free Training Opportunities

If you adopt a dog from a Tucumcari shelter (either Paws and Claws animal rescue or the city shelter), I will provide up to six obedience lessons at no charge to help you and your new friend get off to a good start. My goal is to help ensure that adoptions are successful. Training is the best way I know to help a shelter dog adjust to a new home. If you adopted from P&C or the city shelter, make sure to note that on your signup form. I also offer free obedience lessons to shelter volunteers and city shelter staff. If you did not adopt from a local shelter but need help training your dog and cannot afford lessons, please visit the financial assistance page to learn more about my Pay-It-Forward program. My goal is to make training accessible for all dog owners in Tucumcari, regardless of their financial situation.
