An obstreperous rat terrier named Scout forced me to learn to train dogs more than 20 years ago. I began volunteering my services as a trainer for Paws and Claws in 2019. My four-legged assistant, Ramona, and I lead two to four group classes a year and provide one-on-one training on a limited basis. When I’m not training dogs, reading books about training dogs, or watching videos about training dogs, I teach math, English, and journalism in a small, rural school district to support my dog training habit.
