Last Saturday was graduation day for the spring obedience class. The video above shows some of the highlights from the class. Several of these dogs were pretty unruly when class started April 6, but by the time it ended May 11, their manners had improved dramatically, and they were so good at ignoring distractions that we were able to do one of my signature “barkcuterie” parties, which served as both a final exam and a graduation party.
If you’re in the Tucumcari area, and you’re looking for a new best friend, Zion — the big black-and-white dog you see learning to lie down on command early in the video — is available for adoption from Paws and Claws. Zion is a good boy who deserves better than to spend the rest of his life in a shelter. He was born at the rescue in November 2022 and has been there ever since, waiting for his forever home.
