Exercise in futility

We took Marley to her awesome groomer, Jasmine, at Dog Gone Cute this morning. Jasmine shampooed Marley’s fur, blow-dried it, trimmed it, trimmed her nails, and brushed her teeth. My little stinkbug had minty fresh breath and clean, rose-scented fur for 15 whole minutes before she decided to eat a turd and roll in the dirt. 😂😂😂

Jasmine and I are discussing the possibility of putting together a special class designed to help owners desensitize their pets to the tools and techniques they are likely to encounter while being groomed or undergoing veterinary examinations and treatments. We’re hoping this training will make life safer and easier for dogs, their owners, and the canine professionals who work with them. When we get the details worked out, I’ll make an announcement here.

I’m working on several other projects this summer to make life better for dogs in Tucumcari. Stay tuned; I should be ready to unveil the first project in a few weeks.
